A family digital nomad plan needs a separate view of each person’s residence rights, healthcare and daily life. The main applicant’s permission does not automatically answer whether a partner may work or how a child can attend school. Plan together, but check each person’s requirements.
Make one page per family member
Record passport details, relevant residence status, relationship evidence, insurance arrangements and any forms or appointments. If a route permits accompanying dependants, check who qualifies and what evidence is required. Do not assume that an unmarried partner or an adult child is treated the same everywhere.
Check travel and relocation permission
When a child travels with one parent or another adult, check departure, destination, transit and carrier rules. Your Europe notes that parental authorisation requirements differ across countries and airlines. A document accepted for a holiday may not settle a separate question about moving a child’s residence.
Build the working week around care
- Confirm education or childcare options, dates and any enrollment evidence.
- Agree who is available during meetings, school closures or illness.
- Check access to routine and urgent healthcare for every person.
- Allow for different preferences, mobility needs and a possible early return.
Keep the budget and responsibilities visible
Use a shared list of appointments, document owners and due dates. Separate family living costs from any income evidence required by an immigration route. In TheKingMap, enter the number of accompanying family members to add family tasks, then keep each person’s documents in their own clearly labelled file. Share a downloaded checklist when useful; progress stored in one browser is not a shared family account.
